Embark on a full-day Gabala tour from Baku, exploring one of Azerbaijan’s most scenic and historically rich regions. From ancient mosques and majestic mountains to tranquil lakes and thrilling ski slopes, this Gabala day trip offers the perfect mix of nature, culture, and entertainment.

Your Gabala day trip from Baku starts with pickup from your hotel or any preferred location in the morning.

📍 Shamakhi Juma Mosque

Start your Gabala journey with a stop at the historic Shamakhi Juma Mosque, the oldest mosque in the Caucasus, built in 743. With its monumental architecture and spiritual heritage, it offers a unique glimpse into Azerbaijan’s Islamic past. This mosque is a symbolic site on the way to Gabala, making it a meaningful and cultural beginning to your adventure.

📍 Nohur Lake

The next stop of your Gabala sightseeing tour is Lake Nohur, located just outside Gabala city and surrounded by breathtaking mountains and dense forests. The lake is known for its mirror-like surface and serene atmosphere. During the visit, you can enjoy activities like horse riding and a peaceful boat trip. Gabala sightseeing wouldn’t be complete without this natural wonder.

📍 Yeddi Gozel Waterfall

Next on your Gabala excursion is the legendary Yeddi Gözəl Waterfall ("Seven Beauties"), one of Azerbaijan’s most visited natural attractions. Located in the village of Vandam, the waterfall flows in seven cascades down a steep mountainside. Be prepared for a scenic but slightly challenging climb — the higher you go, the more stunning the view becomes.

📍 Tufandag Mountain Resort

Historical Background of Gabala

Gabala lies in the heart of the Shaki-Zagatala region and borders Dagestan and Georgia. It is one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan, with ruins of an ancient city over 2,000 years old. The area is also famous for its vast chestnut and nut forests, many of which are over 500 years old. In spring, the blooming chestnut trees create a truly picturesque landscape.

Amazing !

Asked for an Arabic guide and got it ! The guide was so friendly and informative. Kamal the driver was very helpful. They arrived on time and everything was organized. Gabala is definitely a must-see and it’s worth the three hours drive especially with professional guide & driver. Thanks to Fuad and Elshan as well for organizing this trip. Awesome Friendly Tour Guide

I and my friends have spent 3 days roaming around the city and enjoying the long drive as we go to some distant places. We were stunned by the mountain ranges covered with snow and luckily witnessed the snow fall. A big thanks to Guided Azerbaijan for making our long weekend memorable. We had so much fun! I was surprised that we were able to see almost all the attractions for 3 days - city tour, cable car, temples, actual primitive polygraph, mountain ranges, temples, synagogue, fire mountain to name a few. Aside from these amazing views, we have enjoyed the authentic Azerbani cuisines. There's actually a lot of good places to eat but Fuad's recommendations are simply the best! I would highly recommend Guided Azerbaijan to be your local tour guide. They are very responsive to all our requests and queries and even extended few hours to catch up with the schedule. charie d December 2, 2018

Great experience

Overall it was a great experience. Guide was very friendly and informative, showed us a lot of interesting places. The highlight of the trip was visiting Qabala and seeing snow. The carpet museum was a good experience, seeing how carpets are being hand made. Shooting was a lot of fun and highly recommend trying the shotgun. Unfortunately we couldn’t go to the waterfall due to bad weather. Overall it was great and highly recommend it. F. Jufairi December 3, 2018
