Shamakhi & Lahij Tour is a full-day private journey from Baku that combines two of Azerbaijan’s most rewarding cultural destinations into a truly memorable experience. From spiritual landmarks and historic mausoleums to mountain scenery and traditional craftsmanship, this route is ideal for travelers who want to see a deeper and more authentic side of the country beyond the capital.
This Shamakhi & Lahij Tour is created for comfort from start to finish. It is a great choice for first-time visitors, couples, families, and travelers who enjoy history, architecture, and local culture in one well-organized day.
Your Shamakhi & Lahij Tour begins in Maraza Village with a visit to Diri Baba Mausoleum, one of the region’s most distinctive spiritual landmarks. Built into the rock and surrounded by local legends, this monument creates a strong first impression and adds a mystical, historical atmosphere to the day.
The route continues to Shamakhi Juma Mosque, one of the oldest and most important mosques in the Caucasus. This stop adds historical depth to the journey and introduces visitors to one of Azerbaijan’s most significant religious and architectural sites.
Another highlight of the day is Yeddi Gumbez, the Seven Domes mausoleum complex connected to the rulers of the Shamakhi Khanate. Set against the landscape, this site offers historical value and a striking sense of place, making it one of the most memorable parts of the route.
The second half of your Shamakhi & Lahij Tour takes you to Lahij Village, one of Azerbaijan’s most famous mountain settlements and best-known centers of traditional craftsmanship. Known for ancient stone streets, old architecture, and artisan culture, Lahij offers a different atmosphere from the earlier stops and gives the journey a more lived-in, cultural character.
Lahij is famous for its handmade copperware, and this part of the Shamakhi & Lahij Tour lets you see that tradition up close. Walking through the workshops and village streets allows visitors to experience a side of Azerbaijan deeply rooted in local skill, heritage, and everyday life.
This Shamakhi & Lahij Tour is ideal for travelers who want more than a simple countryside drive from Baku. It combines spiritual landmarks, architectural heritage, mountain-village atmosphere, and traditional craftsmanship in a route that feels varied, meaningful, and easy to enjoy.
Instead of organizing transport and planning remote stops on your own, you can relax and enjoy the experience with private service, local guidance, and a comfortable pace all day.

We had a great tour that showed us a glimpse of the more traditional side of this beautiful country. Our driver, Arif, and our guide, Tahir, were super professional.
Tour was absolutely amazing and it exceeded our expectations. We saw so many various things in only a few hours: be it nature, tombs, winery, mosque โฆ our tour guide was very educated and he was ready to adjust the intenary based on our wishes. We also visited the Meysari Winery for a private wine tasting in their wine cellars and stop on the way for truly local lunch experience in the middle of nowhere. Lastly, everything was perfectly organized. Thank you Lamia for making this possible. โค๏ธ
I didnโt have much time in Azerbaijan, and this tour was the perfect day trip from Baku to give me a flavor of the mountains and village life. Lahij is a very interesting town of craftspeople, and the drive there was gorgeous. But perhaps the best part of this excursion was the dynamic brother duo of Tahir (guide) and Elmin (driver)! ๐ฆ๐ฟโฅ๏ธ I learned a lot about Azerbaijanโs history and culture from them, and they took me to an incredible roadside eating place where a really friendly husband and wife served up delicious qutab and wild blackberry jam for desert ๐. I highly recommend this tour!
Iโm in love this small city in top of the mountains , the simple lifestyle and the friendly locals. The view of the magical mountains while driving to the city was also incredible. We were lucky to see the rainbow on our way back. Ms. Senuber, the tour guide and Mr. Kamron, the driver who been accompanying me were so friendly and made my whole trip awesome. The tour was arranged by Guided Azerbaijan tour company.
We had booked our all tours in Azerbaizan with Guided Azerbaijan and Ms. Lamia had arranged everything as per our requirement. Mr Fouad was our driver throughout. We had a wonderful time there, without worrying about the arrangement once we reached Azerbaizan. They were very professional yet very warm and welcoming.
